[He tilts his head back against the partition. There's a bit more spirit in Aak's tone. He's not as pleased as he would be if she had simply agreed to his terms but he can consider this. Maybe he can make the whole society of mages miserable, too.]

[If anytime the laws of that world made her miserable, Aak could cheer her up by taking a little corrective action... It's a thought that placates him a lot. He wouldn't decide, since he still had a long time to decide, but it's an option. And she would want him to be there.]
[Speaking of that, the light that had flickered on. Rin wanted him here. From his perspective, even if he's wrong, it's as a rare request for comfort from Rin. So, he pulls himself up from where he's sat, letting a deep breath he hadn't realized he was holding.]

[Once the partition is fully removed, Rin settles in behind Aak and rests her head on his shoulder. Her arms loop around his waist to pull his back in against her front, and she tucks her chin in at the crook of his neck.]
